Subject: ELITE WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT FROM VERIZON WIRELESS HOPELINE PROGRAM

Smyrna, Ga. – Elite Women of Excellence (EWOE), a Smyrna based non-profit organization, was presented with a $5,000 Verizon Wireless HopeLine donation at its 7th annual gala on Nov. 15 2009.

Verizon Wireless’ executive director-Public Relations, Sheryl Sellaway, presented the $5,000 HopeLine check to EWOE’s executive director at the end of its Senior Elite culmination and gala at the Fox Theatre. The HopeLine program is committed to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue.

“We are proud to support EWOE’s programs, particularly as it relates to domestic violence and safe dating education,” said Sellaway. “Domestic violence and certainly teen dating violence are  issues that  we take very seriously at Verizon Wireless and we take every opportunity we can to support organizations that work to eradicate the problem.”

Seventh Annual Gala Well-Attended
EWOE’s Senior Elite culmination and gala celebrated the accomplishments and Aspirations of the 23 participants of the Senior Elite Program in front of 300 guests. This program assists 11th and 12th grade girls in developing knowledge, attitudes and skills to formulate healthy goals, especially that of choosing a sexually abstinent lifestyle.

The donation will be used to enhance safe dating/relationships education and domestic violence awareness among the 75 participants in EWOE’s Community involvement, Junior Elite and Senior Elite programs.
